Music from the cloud.

Do you want to publish your music online ?

SoundCloud is a platform that puts your sound at the heart of communities, websites and even apps. Watch conversations, connections and social experiences happen, with your sound as the spark.

One/two/three reasons why someone should join SoundCloud?
Sure, easy one: Great and very smart people, great product, great community all combined with a very international atmosphere and all the normal fun stuff of a small startup … it’s a company you really like to identify yourself with — and by the number of SoundCloud-Stickers everybody here puts on his laptops, bags, etc. it seems that everybody else sees it the same way.

SoundCloud was established in August, 2007, in Berlin, Germany, by sound designer Alex Ljung and artist Eric Wahlforss. It had the intention of allowing musicians to share recordings with each other, but later transformed into a full publishing tool which also allowed musicians to distribute their music tracks.

A key feature of SoundCloud is that it lets artists upload their music with a distinctive URL. This contrasts to MySpace, which hosts music only on the MySpace site. By allowing sound files to be embedded anywhere, SoundCloud can be combined with Twitter to increase its audience reach.

Soundcloud distributes music using widgets and apps. Users can place the widget on their own websites or blogs, and then SoundCloud will automatically Tweet every track uploaded. SoundCloud has an API that allows other applications or smartphones to upload or download music and sound files. Apps are available for the iPhone and Android platforms.

It is possible to upload two hours of music to soundcloud for free which is plenty to begin with you would have to pay to use more than this but it is reasonable.

A great site to get your music discovered , check it out.
